Reality Shows

Its seems to be the new trend to make all shows "REALITY SHOWS".But i wonder how close they really stay to reality.I feel these shows are really ridiculous especially the ones which helps one find true love and friendship and stuff. Its crazy. All the drama these girls show for their love. These girls must get a life.I just happened to see this Millionaire Matchmaker and this stupid female is asking a guy a list of questions inorder to find a match for him.One of them in the list is "How many times do you want to have sex in week".Hello! Reality shows actually work for shows like "American Idol",But otherwise majorty of them are just disgustng.I think a lot of it is well-scripted drama. But again i must confess that i do watch them once a while. Its fun though crazy sometimes to watch these stupid girls doing all funny stuffs to impress their love of life..lol.If these men can find their true love in reality shows y cant Paris Hilton fnd her true friend?

Update

There is a good news and a bad news.So which one first?Okai, let good overtake bad for now. The good news is that two more kids have joined for the dance class now. They are twins, a girl and a boy, 6 years of age. They are really very sweet.I have fun with them.
Now goes the bad news.I had mailed a professor at a well known university nearby asking her if i can do volunteer work in her lab.It would have given me some experience though i wouldn't get paid. But she replied with a No.But im glad she atleast replied.Last time i had mailed another guy at the university, he never replied. So guess i would have to wait for some more time before i really start working.
We didn't go to Chicago this weekend and postponed it to next weekend.Next weekend we will go to Chicago and from there to Minneapolis.W e are visiting my cousins there. It would be fun.
House of Horror

Most of the news i come across these days are horrifying. Last week i read a news of a father and daughter married with a kid. That news was nothing less than shocking to me.But this latest one seems like the most disgusting one.I have read about father-daughter rapes before too.But this was the worst. This monster had hidden his daughter in his basement for 24 years and they have 3 living kids together. When ever a kid dies, he just burned the kid's body.Actually he is already in his seventies and i feel he must live another 50 years and lead it in complete misery,in complete torture. He deserves that. But sometimes i dont understand in a country like this where all you need to do is to dial 3 numbers for help, why this girl was doown there without askng for help. Its a strange world. It scares me sometimes when i think where this world is leading us to?Or where we are leading this world to?

Weekend news

Hi.This weekend is going quite fast.Friday night we had friends at our home. They are not like any guests. We are so close [touch wood] that they just drop in any time they feel like.So they suddenly decided to come and came by 8 n the night and we had a great time together..I made Pulao and chicken curry for dinner. It was 2am by the time they actually left. Then on Saturday morning we had the dance class. Then we went for the shopping.

April 14th, thats tomorrow is a very auspicious day for us.Its called Vishu.

Its kind of a new year for us.We believe that the rest of the year goes depending how good/bad this day was spend. So basically, we are not supposed to quarrel, cry,be sad etc..etc... on this day and has to try to be happy the whole day...Now whether its true or not, I believe in it.Afteral there is nothing worng in trying to be happy for whatever reason. So we are having feast tonight here.We all friends are cooking together all the typical dishes for our lunch back in our place. But we would have them for dinner cuz not everyone is free on sunday afternoon.Actually we are supposed to have thi food in banana leaf..thats another tradition.lol... But its damn tasty that way...Hot food in the leaf gives a beautiful aroma which adds on to the taste. But we are managing with paper plates here..Im sure many of you would be surprised and shocked to hear these traditions, but we enjoy all these a lot.I believe all the festivals are celebrated to bring the whole family together. All the members in the family cousins and uncles and grand parenst,,,we all get together on these days and its a hell lot os fun.. God, I miss it all...I miss my home... Hope u all have a great week end..

1.Forrest Gump - I think Tom Hanks was simply superb in this movie. It didn't seem like he was acting, it was like he was living Forrest Gump.
2.God father - I had read the novel before i watched the movie and Francis Ford Copola has done complete justice to the novel in the movie.
3.The English Patient - I dont have words to describe this movie.
4.BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOU'RE DEAD - One of the best movies i have ever seen in my life.
5.Da Vinci Code - This was the best novel i have ever read and loved watching the movie.
6.Braveheart - I think noone could have played Willaim Wallace better than Mel Gibson.
7.Cold Mountain - I think this is surely one of the best of Renee Zellweger whom i liked more than Nicole Kidman in this movie.
8.The Wedding Planner - This is on the top list of my favourite romantic comedies movies.
9.Some Like It Hot - Hilarious.I never enjoyed any other black and white movie like i enjoyed this.

This is Funny!!!

Can we just call then stupid??? or something else???lol...this is hilarious....

Dumbest Robber Ever

Smartest Robbers Ever

Movies and Dance

Hi.I used to be very critical of Sj's selection of movies in our blockbuster queue. But i have to accept that i just loved the last couple of movies he selected.I watched Cold Mountain on Monday and The English Patient yesterday.Though i loved both the movies, I dont have words to describe The English Patient. Its just amazing. This is one movie i enjoyed so well after "Before The Devil Knows You Are Dead".When it was the acting excellence in BTDKYD that marvelled, The English Patient scored in direction too. This is surely one of the best movies 9 have ever seen in my life.I dont regret not watching it before cuz i think at a younger age i couldn't have felt the essence of the movie. The depth of love is so vast that we forget their is the bitterness of betrayal in it.I was under this impression that i could enjoy just comedies. But these two movies made me completely understand my choices better.Sissy helped me watch The Girl Interrupted.I was very predujiced about the movie till i watched.I was sure i wouldn't like it.But i surprised myself by liking the movie and i think Anjelina Jolie was just superb in it.Thanks Sissy.

The dance classes have started and the good news is that we have 3 students now.We started the class with one girl on last sunday.Yesterday the girl's mother called up and said there are 2 more girls who would want to come. That was a great news for my friend and me.By the way, incase any of you feel you like to try to try your hand on the Indian classical dance form, Bharatanatyam, you can try this beautiful site by Anjali. She has been dancing fro 10 years now and is taking online dance lessons for FREE.Though nothing can actually replace a guru, she does a great job by posting videos of each step and takes care of all the minute details.

Caught by the virus

Hi all.Since yesterday im being attacked by this heartless, brutal infuenza virus making my nose so stuffed that i feel there are Idaho potatoes growing in my nostrils. I think its all the result of me playing tennis when it was stormy outside.Anyway I took a tablet last night and had a good sleep.I didn't cook last night or today morning.Sj has a pizza party in office today. So i didn't have to worry about his lunch either. Now i am both sick and tired. When i was thinking of various ways to discard my boredom one of ideas i got was to post something. But since the Idaho potatoes in my nose are blocking the neurotransmiters in my synapse, I have lost the ability to think. Now that i cant remember anything that i wanted to post about, i thought,well...i didn't really think, but i decided to post the recipe of my favourite chicken curry that i cook almost every week.If you like chicken, you must really trythis,I am sure you will love this chicken curry.

CHICKEN CURRY IN 15 MINUTES

This recipe includes many spices which really add flavour to the curry.

Igredients

1) Skinless chicken - 1 n a half pounds
2)Vegetable oil - 5 table spoon
3)Onion - 1 chopped into small pieces
4)Green Chilli - 2 chopped
5)Ginger garlic paste-2 tea spoon
6)Tomato -2 sliced
7)Chilli powder -quarter tea spoon
8)Cinnamon -3-4 sticks or half teaspoon if powder

9)Pepper - Quarter teaspoon or 5-6 if pepper seeds
10)Bay leaves - 3-4
11)Coriander powder- 1 tea spoon
12)Salt - 2 teaspoon or depending on taste
13)Garam Masala - 2 tea spoon [optional,but preferred]

I add a variety of other spices too, but since i assume that you like it less spicy and hot, this would be enough.

Marinate Chicken
Clean and chop the chicken well and add 3-4 tablesppon curd to it.To ths then add quarter tea spoon salt, turmeric powder [optional],half lemon and keep it aside for half an hour.

Cooking
Keep the vessel in the stove and pour the oil to it.
Optional

Mustard spluttered in the oil adds is typical ingredient in almost all Indian dishes. But its better not to try if you are completely unaware of how to do it as it as the hot spluttering mustard can hurt u.Anyway its not very harmful and even without this, the dish would be delicious enough.

[When the oil is hot add quarter teaspoon mustard seed and red dry chilli to it and close it with a lid or spatter screen as the mustard splutters in the oil. After the mustard stops spluttering, remove the lid]

1) Add all the spices and ginger garlic paste [5,8,9,10] into the hot oil and stir for 10 seconds.
2)Now add the chopped onion and green chilli to it and continue stirring occassionaly for another 2 minutes or till onion turns golden brown.Make sure to add enough oil to avoid onion getting dry.

3)Add the tomatoes, stir again and keep it closed for a minute.

4)Add the chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder [replace coriander powder with garam masala if u have it] and salt to this, stir well.

5)Add the chiken to this mixture.Stir well and make sure that all the mix has spread well on the chicken.

6)Keep the lid closed and let the chicken cook with occassional stirring.Do not pour water as chicken with bones usually has water in itslef and it comes out while cooking. Add water only if you dont find gravy in the vessel even after 2 minutes.

7)Make sure u stir occasionally to avoid chicken getting stuck to the vessels. Cook for another 6-7 minutes or until chicken is cooked to your desired level.Garnish with cilantro leaves and have with bread or rice.

This gives u a very delicious chicken curry that can be prepared in just 15 minutes.Increase or reduce the amount of chilli and salt as desired.Go ahead and try it.I bet you would love it.
[Ingredients 8,9,10 and 11 can be replaced with by Garam Masala that is available in any Indian store and really adds to the flavour of the dish.Garam masala is a ground form of all many spices together.]I would highly suggest you to use Garam Masala for this dish.
Try the same recipe with beef, mutton or lamp instead of chicken.
