Living in Chicago!

hi.i am all settled at the new place..I like it here.I like the patio and the homely felling..We bought all the new furniture for the home.I want to buy a dining table too.But we would wait for some time since it would make us broke if we get it right now.But i like this stay.I have a bigger kitchen where cooking is a much better experience than my old one.Moreover the kitchen and the living room are almost together which lets me watch tv while cooking which i enjoy.Sj can come home lunch.His office is very close.I have a tree right outside my patio and like the feeling of the shadow it gives my patio and livingf room.I got an indian cable connection too today. I have all major markets, shopping centers,restaurants,banks.At&t center etc...etc... very close by to my aprtmnet and this makes shopping really easy. Now these are all the wonderful things about my new living place.Coming to the slightly darker side of things...
The maintanance here sucks.The A/C wouldn't run below 72.But they wouldn't replace it till it stops working.Atleast thats what thye say.Disgusting.Its so hot and we have to leave it continously running for 2 days before it touches 70F.I even have the bathroom door lock broken which they repaired twice last week and is again damaged.I just had an argument with the lady at the resident services.There is this one lady over there who really doesn't know how to talk.I dont know who appointed her for the resident service.She argues with me saying that fixing a bathroom lock is not an emergency and i was infuriated.I have guests coming over tomorrow.Its Sj's birthday tomorrow.I gifted him a certificate for massage for an hour at a nearby place tomorrow.

1. If I could be a fly on the wall I would fly away and away and away till tororrow.
2. Jealousy is self murder.
3. When I see a shooting star my wish would be that my family and me stay happy and healthy.
4. I'd rather be eating chicken than pork any day!
5. Certain songs when I hear them make me wanna fly back tot he past.
6. If time were in a bottle I wouldn't keep the bottle with me.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to our send off party, tomorrow my plans include attending another birthday party and Sunday, I want to prepare for Neha's birthday party on Monday [:)]!

Party days

Hi all.We are moving to chicago the coming saturday.As much as im looking forward to it, i really feel disappointed i will have to leave all my friends here.Infact i ahve made more friends in the last month than i have made in past 8 months...Today we had a send off party from all our friends.It was a lot of fun except for the argument i had with Sj when we reutrned.It kind of got hot making Sj is angry and going to bed without me.He even fired a few harsh words on me.It was hurting.But somehow i didn't feel like beginning a big argument,neither did i feel like crying. But it sure felt disheartening.I dont know what i feel.I may end up going back to him myself and trying to settle the fight as i do always.But i really do not want to do it this time.Im watching tv now,There is Nancy Grace coming up.But Nancy is doing the programme today.Somebody else whose name im not sur eof is doing it for her today.Its about a missing 2 year old today.Now coming to children,its neha's birthday on Monday.Im so excited.Im doing a lot of arrangements.Its a theme based birthday.Neha loves Winnie the Pooh...So we are arrranging a winnie the pooh birthday for her.I will write more details of it later.Hope u all have a great weekend.We have another bIrthday party to attend tomorrow, then Neha's birthday party on monday and then again we have a party on next saturday.So its a complete party time though right at this moment im not in a amood for any of this.Hopefully, i wiil feel better by tomorrow.Have a great weekend all.

Five years ago i had just finished my pre-degree and was making some important decisions as to where to direct my life next.

Today being a saturday, actually nothing much.Sj and friends are playing cricket in the evening.So will go there and meet other wives, take my driving lessons with Sj for sometime,may be clean the house a bit,laundry if i have the mooded for it by evening... :)

Lays, chicken sandwitch, french fries, papadi, mirchi baji

4) What are five things you would do if you were a billionaire?
Build an orphanage,sponser studies for a few kids, shop a lot, buy a BMW,hire a gym trainer...lol

i have never had a regular job other than the part time job i once did for a day for marketing a biscult

Sj offiicially gave the resignation to the present company.We are expected to move from here by the 25th of july...we have a visa transfer receipt to receive before he joins the new company.So it was slightly a risk resigning before we got it in hand.But if we would wait for the receipt to resign, it would take a long time to join the new company as we have to give 2 weeks notice bofre resigning.Hope evrything gpes well.Booked the apartment in chicago.Good one.Got pool, gym, tennis court n all that stuff.But kind of expensive compared to what we paid here.We have to pay for all the utilities too.But then went for it as it is very close to Sj's office.Hope all of u are having a great weekend.We had a get together with friends last night and got up really late today.I have missed my friday fill-ins for many weeks now..hope to catch up soon.Have fun all...

Update

Booked new apartment in chicago.But the visa trnsfer is not done yet...waiting for it.I was in chicago this weekend too.I have been on chicago almost every weekend for past 3 months.My cousin n her family had come from Minneapolis.So we had fun.Went for the architectural cruise in navy pier and i really enjoyed it.Even an evening at the akeshore on sunday was well spent too.I even watched the movie "Wanted". Anjelina was stunning as always.The movie wasn't anything great.But is worth watching a single time.I kinda liked it.Have fun all.Will keep updating about my shifting and stuff.I have plans to buy whole new furnitures and do good interiors for my new apartmnet.

Great happy news!!!! Sj just got a new job.He had been looking for one since a long time.He was in an Indian company and was here on a project.Now he is palced in an american company with a better pay and benefits.They would file for green card later for us with no cost of ours.This was ht echange i had mentioned in an earlier post.We were so busy looking for new aparments last week.We want to furnuish the new apartmnet really good.There is nothing much furniture and stuff in this apartment where we stay now cuz we never had plans to stay here for long... this is a great change to happpen now...The best thing is, the new place where we would stay would be just 8 miles from my dad's place...So he can just come and stay with us anytime.lala lala laaalaaa.
The company pays for our relocation and lease break and stuff.They would even pay a few bucks extra to us before we move to chicago.So its really cool..I love shopping.We both want to buy a good king size bed, a sofa and someother stuffs for the new apartment.AAAAhhhhhhh!!!! Im so excited.
Sj always wanted a job change.He had applied at so many places,but got very less interviews.Its so difficult to get a new job in US now.But last month, he had 2 interviews, one at chicago and one at Camarillo, California.Sj loves California.Always wanted to work there.But this Chicago job is more rpomising than the other one.So decided to go with this.Moreover we have no friends or relatives in CA. im so glad im moving closer to my dad.Wish me luck everyone.Will update about everything regarding my shifting.Have fun.

back from choicago

Hi.I am back from Chicago.I was at my dad's place and i really felt sad seeing my mum leave.I would have loved to see her stay back for some more time.We argue quite a lot when we are together.But still we have great love and respect for eachother which many others dont know.I bought a few gifts for mu mum.A lip colour and eye shadow and stuff... she usually doesn't wear much make up.But the ones i bougth were almost skin tones.So it was okai.Mum reached safe and thankfully the flight was on time.Another really lucky thing to happen was that mu mum could sent 2 baggages.Yeah, She had 2 almost over weight baggages and a truly over weight hand baggage.Incase they had made her open the hand baggage, things would have popped out of it as in an insan epopcorn machine.A friend had gifted her with a lots of kitchen wares which she was keen to carry with her.Then she had all these gifts she had bought for our relatives,mostly perfumes and stuff.Then she had bought her favourite brand of perfume for herself, J'adore.Well, I love it too.Its worth the $85 spent on it.I love it.But my mum love sit more.So all this had made her bags really heavy.We were really worried as she was travelling alone.But my dad knew someone at the airport.But we weren't sure we would meet her there.he just knew this lady, but wasn;t very colose to her or something.Thank god we met her at the airport.This lady works for the Indian airlines and she helped us by sending all my my mum's bags in baggage without even weighing them.All she had to carry was a laptop bag.Thank god .
I bought a mineral make up for myself.Find it good.But nothing to beat my Loreal 3 in 1 foundation stick.Its really good.Though they suggest that the moneral make up can be worn by itself, i use it like a compact after my Loreal stick and i works better this way for me.

In Chicago to see off mum

Hi.Im in Chicago now.My mum is going back on thursday and i decided to stay with her till then.Sj has went back today morning as he has to attend office.We went shopping yesterday and mum bought Jadore perfume.She loves it and had been looking for good deals on it ever since she came.I bought an American beauty mineral makeup for myself. I never had plans for buying it, I just tried and when everyone told me it was good on me.So ended up spending $25 on it.These things are expensive.I wanted a buy a good concealer i found later which was another 22 bucks, but decided against it as i felt i shouldn't be spending so much on cosmetics, atleast till i start earning some money.I watched Sex n the City last thursday and kinda liked it.Im a sex n the city fan n watch it regularly on tv.So i badly wanted to watch the movie.Though Sj is not very fond of the series, he still agreed to take me for it.The movie was kinda good.Im not sure if i really loved it.I felt it was a bit dragging.But i liked the stuff.
Im very sad now that my mum is leaving.Both my mum n dad very gloomy too.I even saw my dad crying cuz he doesn't wana stay away from my mum.My dad is on a greencard here and my mum can actually visit any time.She got a visa for 10 years.But she has a few responsilities there to take care of and she is working too.I'l write in detail about it later.But im sure my decision to stay here for a week has really helped.My dad wouldn't atleast feel very lonely after my mum has left.Its been almost 2 months since my mother came.But time seems to be in great rush.I hope evryone has a great week ahead.HAve fun.

Back to square one

Hi all.Last 2 weeks had been quite busy.A change i badly needed.My mum was here with me and with the dance practices in full swing, i had a great time.My mum returned with my dad yesterday and the dance got over on saturday.So its back to square one now.Im again here, sitting on my sofa, laptop in front of me,blogging with the tv switched on.Im watching [or atleast thats on tv now] american morning and these guys are discussing Obama and Hilary....Im not sure how much im listening.But the tv is switched on and would be so the wholw day.Do i sound a bit depressed?Well, incase i dont, let me tell u that im.Not exactly depressed,but im sad.Im sad that my mum left and that the dance is over.The dance good and we got hell lot of appreciation on saturday.It was a great feeling when it was over.It was a complete Indian bollywood and classical based dance.I'l upload it in youtube and then i will add the link here.Im not sure how many of you will enjoy it.But i cant explain the fun i had.Getting the costume was the most difficult thing to do.Finally we decided on draping a sari.But it was difficult to dance on sari.So my mum came up with this idea of a qiock temporary stitching of the saro to make it look like a skirt...It allw orked well and we all had cosrumes.We even made similar accessories with lace and other simple stuffs we bought from Micheals.Now a hint about the change i had mentioned to u earlier in another post.We might move from our current place soon.Nothing is confrmed.But we might.Moe details soon to come.have fun all.Have a great weekend ahead.
